Acosta Earns Second Team All-WHAC Honors
Nick Acosta earned Second Team All-Conference honors, the league announced on Wednesday (Apr. 29).
DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn lacrosse team placed one student-athlete on the All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Second Team, as Nick Acosta earned postseason recognition for his performance during the 2026 campaign.
Acosta, a key contributor for the Wolverines, started all 18 games this season and made a consistent impact on the defensive end. He totaled 28 ground balls and caused 32 turnovers, demonstrating his ability to disrupt opposing offenses and control possession.
Throughout the season, Acosta played a vital role in UM-Dearborn's defensive unit, often drawing challenging matchups and contributing to transition opportunities. His awareness and physicality helped anchor the Wolverines' back line across the 2026 slate.
Jeremy Fancett was named to the WHAC Champions of Character Team. Furthermore, six Wolverines were named to the WHAC All-Academic team, those names are listed below. The All-Academic Team consists of sophomores or above with a cumulative 3.25 GPA who have been at their school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team comprises one player from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
