Balanced Attack Leads Wolverines Past Trinity Christian

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team opened its 2025-26 campaign in impressive fashion, using a dominant second half to defeat Trinity Christian College 79-62 on Friday night.
After trailing 15-7 after the first quarter, the Wolverines erupted for 23 points in the second to take control, then poured in 33 points in the fourth to seal their first win of the season.
Four Wolverines scored in double figures, led by Marissa Thomas with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting, while Regan Gary added 18 points and four assists. Tamia Tounsel recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Bailey Stimac contributed 15 points and a team-high seven boards.
UM-Dearborn shot a strong 50.8% from the field and tallied 22 assists as a team, showcasing an unselfish and efficient offensive performance.
With the win, the Wolverines move to 1-1 on the season and will look to build on their momentum in their WHAC Opener on Wednesday (Oct. 29).
