Wolverines Come Up Short at Great Lakes Christian, 82–77

LANSING, Mich. -- Despite a strong second-half push, the UM-Dearborn women's basketball team fell 82–77 on Saturday afternoon at Great Lakes Christian. The Wolverines drop to 2–4 on the season.
UM-Dearborn trailed by as many as 13 in the first quarter but battled back behind a dominant performance from Tamia Tounsel, who poured in a game-high 29 points on 8-of-11 shooting while adding four assists, two steals, and 12 made free throws.
The Wolverines surged in the third quarter, outscoring the Crusaders 23–12 to erase the deficit. Marissa Thomas and Lillian Golson each added 19 points, with Thomas collecting seven rebounds and eight assists, and Golson hitting four threes to help fuel the comeback effort.
UM-Dearborn entered the fourth quarter tied at 56–56, but Great Lakes Christian responded with a strong final period behind Dalys McGuinnis (21 points) and MaKensie Mondy (18 points). The Crusaders outscored the Wolverines 26–20 in the closing frame to secure the win.
As a team, UM-Dearborn posted 24 assists on 26 made field goals and forced 22 turnovers, but Great Lakes Christian shot 50.9% from the floor and held a 36–27 rebounding edge.
