Wolverines Dominate Ohio Christian in Nonconference Matchup
Four Wolverines finished in double figures on Wednesday (Nov. 5).
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team turned in a strong performance on both ends of the floor Wednesday night, rolling to a 67-34 victory over Ohio Christian University inside The Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines (2-2) controlled the game from the start with a balanced attack and stifling defense. UM-Dearborn outscored the Trailblazers in every quarter, including a 21-9 advantage in the third to put the game well out of reach.
Senior forward Tamia Tounsel powered the Wolverines with a dominant double-double, scoring a game-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds. Marissa Thomas added 11 points and four assists, while Bailey Stimac and Lillian Golson each contributed 10 points—Stimac also led the team with four steals.
Off the bench, Tori Kostuck provided a spark with eight points, three rebounds, and two assists, while Nyla Hood pulled down eight boards in 16 minutes of action.
As a team, the Wolverines shot 41.3% from the field and 35.7% from three-point range, while holding Ohio Christian to just 24.5% shooting and forcing 21 turnovers. UM-Dearborn also dominated the glass with a 45-38 rebounding edge.
