Tounsel Records Double-Double in Loss Against LTU
Tamia Tounsel recorded her fourth double-double of the season in a loss against LTU on Wednesday (Nov. 19).
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball put together a dominant third-quarter surge, but a slow second period proved too much to overcome in a 79–67 loss to Lawrence Tech on Wednesday night at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines outscored LTU 30–24 in the third quarter, cutting a double-digit halftime deficit to single digits behind strong interior play and defensive pressure. Senior Tamia Tounsel powered the effort with 21 points and 11 rebounds, earning her fourth double-double of the season. Marissa Thomas added 15 points and seven assists, while Lillian Golson delivered a balanced 17-point, five rebound performance.
Despite the comeback push, Lawrence Tech's efficient shooting—over 50% from the field and 94% at the line—kept the Blue Devils in control. LaChelle Moreland-Jones had a team-high 21 points, while four LTU players reached double figures.
