Heslop is the second Wolverine to earn WHAC weekly honors.
DEARBORN, Mich. — University of Michigan-Dearborn goaltender Trevor Heslop has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Heslop earned the honor following a stellar performance in the Wolverines' 4-1 victory over Lawrence Tech on Saturday. The junior stopped 35 of 36 shots, backstopping UM-Dearborn to its second win of the season.
Through four games this season, Heslop has been a steady presence in net, posting a 2.69 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage overall. In conference play, he's been even sharper—owning a 2.00 GAA, a .930 save percentage, and a perfect 2-0 record.
