ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Despite controlling much of the offensive pressure, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team was unable to find a comeback, falling 3–1 to Lawrence Tech on Friday night at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
The Blue Devils (3-0-0, 1-0-0 WHAC) struck early, opening the scoring just 51 seconds into the contest on a goal from Lukas Robinson. The Wolverines (1-4-0, 1-2-0 WHAC) responded early in the second period when Dawson Nelson netted his first of the season, assisted by Will Barrett and Ethan Marcola, tying the game at 1–1. Lawrence Tech regained the lead midway through the frame as Adrian Gonzalez-Marin scored off a feed from Kevin Bond, putting the visitors back in front 2–1.
UM-Dearborn generated several quality chances in the third period and outshot LTU 32–20 for the night, but goaltender Brett Tome stood tall with 31 saves. A late empty-net goal from Maximus Nguyen sealed the result for the Blue Devils.
