Reynolds Named WHAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jackson Reynolds received WHAC Player of the Week for the second time in his career.
DEARBORN, Mich. – University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball standout Jackson Reynolds has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. The honor marks the second time in his career that Reynolds has earned the conference's weekly recognition.
Reynolds opened his junior season in historic fashion, surpassing 1,000 career points in the Wolverines' matchup against Rochester Christian on Oct. 29. He finished the night with 29 points on 50 percent shooting (11-for-22), including three 3-pointers.
The milestone set the tone for a dominant week, as Reynolds followed up with a 30-point outing in a 92-83 victory over IU Kokomo on Nov. 1. The junior guard shot an efficient 56.3 percent (9-for-16) from the field and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line in the win.
Across the two-game stretch, Reynolds averaged 29.5 points per game, shooting 52.6 percent from the floor and 82.4 percent from the line, helping power UM-Dearborn to a 1-1 start to the season.
Reynolds' early-season success reinforces his role as one of the WHAC's top offensive threats and a key leader for the Wolverines as conference play approaches.
