Hot First Half Not Enough as Wolverines Fall at Indiana Tech
A strong offensive start put the University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s basketball team in front at the break, but Indiana Tech used a big second half to rally past the Wolverines, handing Michigan-Dearborn a 96–86 road loss Saturday afternoon in WHAC action.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team built a first-half lead but could not keep pace down the stretch, falling 96–86 to Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon in WHAC play.
Michigan-Dearborn (4-8, 3-4) shot out of the gates offensively, taking a 47–44 advantage into halftime behind a strong opening 20 minutes. Indiana Tech (10-1, 6-0), however, responded with a decisive second half, outscoring the Wolverines 52–39 to pull away late.
Jackson Reynolds delivered a standout performance for Michigan-Dearborn, pouring in a game-high 30 points while knocking down six three-pointers and adding six assists. Thomas Dillard IV chipped in 15 points, while Abed Abuzahrah added 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Indiana Tech was led by Jaxson Fugate, who finished with 36 points on an efficient 14-of-15 shooting, while Blake Davison contributed 23 points and nine assists. The Warriors shot 58.6 percent from the field in the win.
