Wolverines Hold Off Late Push, Earn Key WHAC Win at Siena Heights
The Wolverines improve to 2-1 in WHAC play this season.
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team rode a balanced offensive attack and a standout performance from junior guard Jackson Reynolds to earn a hard-fought 95–91 road win over Siena Heights on Saturday, improving to 3–5 overall and 2–1 in WHAC play.
Reynolds poured in 30 points on 8-of-16 shooting while knocking down all 11 of his free throws, adding seven rebounds and four assists in one of his most efficient outings of the season. His steady scoring helped the Wolverines build a 51–40 halftime lead, an advantage that proved vital as the Saints mounted a late push in the second half.
UM-Dearborn showcased sharp execution on both ends early, shooting 47.8% from the field and connecting on 10 threes for the game. Five Wolverines scored in double figures, including Collin Miller with 15 points and three triples, Thomas Dillard IV with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, and Luc Laketa, who provided 11 points and two threes of his own. Freshman forward Devin McMorris added key minutes off the bench, posting four points and two boards.
Siena Heights countered with a strong offensive night, shooting over 53% from the floor. The Saints were led by Joshua Wilson's 24 points, Jack Olis' 22, and Terrence Partridge's 19, chipping away at UM-Dearborn's advantage throughout the second half. Despite being outscored 51–44 after halftime, the Wolverines held firm in the final minutes thanks to clutch free-throw shooting and timely stops.
UM-Dearborn finished an impressive 21-for-23 at the line (91.3%), sealing the victory in the closing possessions.
