Cold Shooting Night Dooms Wolverines in Road Loss to Lourdes
UM-Dearborn struggled to find its rhythm offensively against one of the WHAC’s top teams, falling 103–59 to No. 10 Lourdes on Saturday afternoon in Sylvania, Ohio.
SYLVANIA, Ohio -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team ran into a red-hot Lourdes squad on Saturday, as the nationally ranked Gray Wolves used a blistering first half to hand the Wolverines a 103–59 conference setback.
Lourdes opened the game with overwhelming pace and precision, racing out to a 59–24 halftime lead behind sharp perimeter shooting and relentless ball movement. The Gray Wolves shot 54.5% from the field and connected on eight three-pointers, overwhelming UM-Dearborn's defense from the outset.
Jackson Reynolds led the Wolverines with 10 points and four rebounds, while Thomas Dillard IV battled inside for seven points and seven boards. Off the bench, Ali Hassan provided a bright spot with nine points on 4-of-5 shooting, and Devin McMorris added six points and two rebounds in reserve minutes.
Despite UM-Dearborn's push in the second half—scoring 35 after the break—the deficit proved too large to overcome as Lourdes continued to generate balanced scoring throughout its lineup. Five Gray Wolves reached double figures, highlighted by Derek Fairley's 17 points and Blake Robinson's 18 off the bench.
The Wolverines were hampered by cold shooting, finishing just 31.5% from the field and 3-for-30 from long range. Lourdes capitalized on those misses, dominating the glass 53–38 and converting transition opportunities throughout the afternoon.
