Trailing by four at halftime, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men’s basketball team exploded for 55 second-half points Saturday to rally past Northwestern Ohio, securing an 88-83 victory behind a dominant offensive stretch after the break.
DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team rallied in the second half to secure an 88-83 victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio on February 21, 2026.
UM-Dearborn trailed 37-33 at halftime but erupted for 55 second-half points to complete the comeback. The Wolverines turned up the offensive intensity after the break, overcoming a hot shooting night from UNOH, which connected on 48.4 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range.
UNOH was led by Antonio King's 29 points on 12-of-25 shooting, while Alex Benson added 15 and Chris Johnson chipped in 11. The visitors placed five players in double figures and moved the ball effectively, finishing with 15 assists.
Despite that balance, UM-Dearborn responded with an even stronger offensive push in the final 20 minutes. The Wolverines capitalized on key possessions down the stretch and did enough at the free-throw line to preserve the five-point win.
UNOH held a 35-32 rebounding edge and blocked six shots, but 16 turnovers proved costly. UM-Dearborn's ability to control tempo in the second half and string together scoring runs ultimately flipped the game.
After entering halftime down four, the Wolverines' 55-point second half marked the difference as UM-Dearborn closed out the regular-season home contest with momentum.
