Wolverines Take Down Aquinas on the Road, 85-76

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team used its most efficient offensive performance of the season and a balanced scoring effort to pick up its second WHAC road win, defeating Aquinas 85–76 on Tuesday night.
The Wolverines shot a blistering 64.3 percent from the field and placed five players in double figures, overcoming a late push from the Saints to improve to 4–5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Jackson Reynolds led UM-Dearborn with 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists while playing 39 minutes. The junior guard sparked a strong first half that saw the Wolverines take a 42–33 lead into the break. Thomas Dillard IV delivered a perfect night from the floor, going 8-for-8 en route to 16 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
UM-Dearborn continued its efficient scoring in the second half, getting key contributions from its depth. Luc Laketa added 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, while Collin Miller came off the bench to knock down a pair of threes and finish with eight. Zakary Byrd also gave the Wolverines a lift with nine points and two steals in 14 minutes.
Aquinas made several pushes behind a 28-point, 11-rebound performance from Caden Pokorzynski, but the Wolverines' interior scoring and ball movement (14 assists on 36 made shots) kept the Saints at arm's length. Michigan-Dearborn held Aquinas to 26.3 percent shooting from three and forced 15 turnovers in the win.
