Late Push Falls Short as UM-Dearborn Drops 107–103 Decision to Siena Heights
Despite a strong second-half response and multiple standout performances, the University of Michigan-Dearborn came up just short Saturday night, falling 107–103 to Siena Heights in a tightly contested nonconference matchup.
DEARBORN, Mich. -- The University of Michigan-Dearborn traded punches with Siena Heights throughout the opening half, but the Saints carried a 54–48 advantage into the break behind efficient shooting and steady offensive execution. Siena Heights shot over 60 percent from the floor in the half, while UM-Dearborn remained within striking distance thanks to balanced scoring and timely perimeter shooting.
The Wolverines elevated their play after halftime, outscoring Siena Heights 55–53 in the second half and applying consistent pressure down the stretch. UM-Dearborn made several late runs to cut the deficit to one possession, but the Saints converted at the free-throw line to hold off the comeback attempt.
Jackson Reynolds led all scorers with a game-high 32 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going 8-for-9 at the foul line. Luc Laketa provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 23 points on 8-of-9 shooting, while Abdulrahman Helwa added 12 points and five rebounds. Thomas Dillard IV chipped in 11 points, giving UM-Dearborn four players in double figures.
Siena Heights was paced by Nick Sobush's 26 points on near-perfect shooting, with Jack Olis (22 points) and Jonas Tester (21 points) also surpassing the 20-point mark. The Saints finished the game shooting 62.5 percent from the field and 77.5 percent from the free-throw line, differences that ultimately proved decisive.
UM-Dearborn finished the night shooting 50 percent from the floor and forced Siena Heights into 16 turnovers, but the Wolverines were unable to overcome the Saints' efficiency and depth in a high-scoring affair.
