UM-Dearborn Falls to Madonna in WHAC Home Match

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team dropped a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup on Friday afternoon (Sept. 12), falling in straight sets to Madonna University at The Fieldhouse. The final scores were 25-23, 25-12, 25-23.
The Wolverines battled tight in the opening and closing frames, nearly stealing momentum late in both, but the Crusaders' efficient attack made the difference. Madonna hit .252 as a team compared to .153 for UM-Dearborn.
Junior Marisa Fetterley led the Wolverines with nine kills on .273 hitting, while Monti Rotter and Abigail Goldobin added five apiece. Setter Nalani Schanz paced the offense with 24 assists, and defensively, libero Laura Chandler collected a match-high 15 digs.
At the net, Alyssa Evans and Princess Savage each contributed multiple blocks to keep UM-Dearborn within reach.
With the loss, UM-Dearborn moves to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in WHAC play, while Madonna improves to 5-5 and 1-2 in league action.
