Wolverines Battle Early, Fall to Lourdes in Four Sets

DEARBORN, Mich. – October 1, 2025 – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's volleyball team came out strong in the opening set but ultimately fell to Lourdes University 3-1 (31-29, 25-12, 22-25, 25-9) on Wednesday afternoon inside The Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines (2-13, 0-7 WHAC) pushed the Gray Wolves to extra points in a thrilling first set, hitting .149 as a team and rallying behind kills from Alyssa Evans and Monti Rotter. Despite dropping the opener 31-29, UM-Dearborn showed resilience and carried that energy into the third set, where the offense came alive with a match-best .308 attack percentage to secure a 25-22 victory.
Rotter led the Wolverines with 10 kills, while Evans and Abigail Goldobin added eight each. Setter Nalani Schanz ran the offense efficiently with 28 assists and also chipped in three service aces. Laura Chandler contributed across the board with 13 digs and two aces.
Defensively, UM-Dearborn totaled 48 digs on the afternoon, with steady efforts from Chandler, Schanz, and Rotter.
Lourdes (4-10, 0-8 WHAC) hit an impressive .353 for the match, led by Rachel Allison and Jolie Sobb, who combined for 30 kills.
