Wolverines Fall in Straight Sets at Defiance College

DEFIANCE, Ohio — The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team wrapped up its non-conference slate on Wednesday night, falling 3–0 (25–14, 25–15, 25–14) to Defiance College at the Karl H. Weaner Center.
The Wolverines (3–21, 1–15 WHAC) were led by Alyssa Evans, who posted seven kills with an efficient .333 hitting percentage, while Monti Rotter added eight kills and a block assist. Abigail Goldobin chipped in four kills, and Nalani Schanz recorded a team-high 14 assists and four service aces. Laura Chandler anchored the back row with a team-best nine digs.
UM-Dearborn battled throughout but was unable to overcome Defiance's .296 team hitting percentage and strong serving presence. The Yellow Jackets recorded nine service aces and 18 block assists to control the match at the net.
