Wolverines Battle Hard but Fall to Indiana Tech in Straight Sets
The Wolverines take on Defiance on Wednesday (Oct. 29).
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team put together a competitive effort on Saturday afternoon but came up short against Indiana Tech, falling 3-0 (25-17, 27-25, 25-15) in WHAC action at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines came out strong in the second set, pushing the Warriors to extra points before narrowly dropping the frame 27-25. Senior Abigail Goldobin led the UM-Dearborn offense with 13 kills and a .345 hitting percentage, while Princess Savage added seven kills and a pair of blocks. Monti Rotter and Alyssa Evans each contributed five kills.
Setter Nalani Schanz ran the offense with 27 assists, and Laura Chandler anchored the defense with a team-high 13 digs and two service aces.
Despite the setback, UM-Dearborn showed improvement at the net, finishing with a .187 team hitting percentage against one of the WHAC's top defensive units.
