Wolverines Earn First WHAC Victory with Five-Set Win Over UNOH

DEARBORN, Mich. — The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team battled through five sets to capture its first conference win of the season, defeating the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), 3-2, Friday afternoon at the Fieldhouse.
Set scores were 25-19, 14-25, 25-21, 22-25, 15-9, as the Wolverines (2-20, 1-14 WHAC) closed out a gritty performance in front of their home crowd.
Abigail Goldobin powered the UM-Dearborn attack with a match-high 23 kills, hitting .231 on 65 swings, while Monti Rotter followed closely with 18 kills and 20 digs for a double-double effort. Setter Nalani Schanz directed the offense with 48 assists and added 11 digs, while Laura Chandler anchored the defense with 18 digs.
As a team, the Wolverines finished with a .138 hitting percentage, collecting 53 kills and 77 digs, while serving up nine aces. Michigan-Dearborn also limited UNOH to a .067 hitting percentage, including a decisive defensive effort in the fifth set where the Racers hit -.148.
The win marks the first WHAC victory of the 2025 campaign for the Wolverines, who will look to build on the momentum as they continue conference play on Saturday against Indiana Tech.
