The Wolferines split a pair of games on the final day in Tennessee.

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team battled through two matches Saturday at the Freed-Hardeman Tournament, falling to the host Lions in four sets before bouncing back to defeat Crowley's Ridge later in the afternoon.
In the opener, the Wolverines pushed Freed-Hardeman to the limit but came up short in a 3–1 loss (25-18, 25-20, 13-25, 29-27). After dropping the first two sets, UM-Dearborn responded with its best offensive performance of the day, hitting .333 in the third frame to extend the match. The Wolverines nearly forced a decisive fifth set but fell in a marathon fourth. Abigail Goldobin and Chelsea Houghton led the attack with 11 kills apiece, while Marisa Fetterley added eight kills and 11.0 points. Setter Nalani Schanz posted 31 assists and three aces, and libero Laura Chandler tallied 12 digs to pace the defense.
UM-Dearborn regrouped in the afternoon, rallying past Crowley's Ridge for a 3–1 victory (23-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-21). After dropping the opening set, the Wolverines took control behind an efficient offense that finished with 53 kills and a .229 hitting percentage. Goldobin again powered the attack with 18 kills, while Houghton hit .400 with eight kills. Monti Rotter and Fetterley each chipped in eight kills, and Schanz directed the offense with 45 assists. The Wolverines were also strong from the service line, finishing with 12 aces led by Alyssa Evans with three. Chandler's 12 digs once again steadied the back row.
With the split, UM-Dearborn moved to 2-6 overall on the season. The Wolverines will look to build on their afternoon victory as they look forward to conference play.
