Fetterley, Rotter Lead Wolverines in 3-1 Setback to Siena Heights
Monti Rotter had a season high 13 kills on Friday (Sept. 19).
DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team showed grit in a four-set battle but ultimately fell 3-1 to Siena Heights University on Friday evening at The Fieldhouse.
The Wolverines dropped the opening set 25-18 before responding with one of their best stretches of the season, hitting .340 in the second set to claim a 26-24 win and even the match. Siena Heights regained momentum in the third with a 25-17 victory, and the Saints closed out the match in a tightly contested fourth set, edging UM-Dearborn 28-26.
Junior Marisa Fetterley led the Wolverines with 13 kills on a .323 hitting percentage, adding five block assists for a team-high 16.5 points. Monti Rotter also finished with 13 kills and 14 digs for a strong two-way performance, while Alyssa Evans added eight kills at a .333 clip. Princess Savage chipped in seven kills on .286 hitting, and setter Nalani Schanz directed the offense with 40 assists. Defensively, Laura Chandler anchored the back row with a team-high 22 digs.
Siena Heights was paced by Devyne Eisenhauer, who recorded 15 kills and 15 digs, while Kate Noe added 13 kills. The Saints totaled 52 kills and 13 service aces in the win.
