AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's hockey team capped off a successful weekend with a two-game sweep over the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, earning 1–0 and 2–1 victories at the Mullins Center.
In Saturday's opener, Ashley Savage delivered the game's lone goal early in the third period on a power play, converting off a feed from Taylor Spence at 4:47. Goaltender Kenna Borso was stellar between the pipes, recording a 27-save shutout to secure the win. The Wolverines outshot the Minutewomen 33–27, and the penalty kill went a perfect 3-for-3.
Michigan-Dearborn followed up with another strong performance on Sunday, edging UMass 2–1. Bella Metcalf opened the scoring late in the first period, while Amy Palaian netted the game-winner on the power play just two minutes after UMass tied it early in the second. Andi Evers added an assist, and Nicole Alexander stood tall in goal with 21 saves on 22 shots.
The Wolverines dominated possession throughout, firing 49 shots on goal in the finale and controlling the pace at both ends. With the sweep, UM-Dearborn improves to 4–0–0 on the season and continues its undefeated start.
