DEARBORN, Mich. – After 40 minutes of scoreless hockey, the No. 6 UM-Dearborn women's hockey team broke through with a dominant third period to defeat Lindenwood 3–0 on Friday night at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. The Wolverines improve to 12-1-0 with the win, extending their strong start to the season.
The Wolverines controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Lions 48–18, but Lindenwood's defense and strong goaltending kept the game tight until the final frame. UM-Dearborn finally broke through at 2:35 of the third when Cadence Pero buried a pass from Stephanie Hatch to make it 1–0.
Just over four minutes later, Nicole Hahn doubled the lead, finishing a setup from Sydney Gillen and Taylor Spence. Spence then added insurance on the power play at 10:32, firing home a feed from Andi Evers and Pero for a 3–0 advantage.
In goal, Kenna Borso was flawless once again, stopping all 18 shots she faced to earn her seventh win.
Pero, Spence, and Borso were named the game's Three Stars.
