FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan-Dearborn women's ice hockey team continued its dominant start to the season, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Indiana Tech on Friday night.
Senior Goaltender Kenna Borso was flawless, stopping all 22 shots faced to backstop the Wolverines (9-0-0, 4-0-0 CCWHA) to their ninth straight win.
UM-Dearborn struck first late in the opening period when Megan Kosempel buried a feed from Maya Ferracciolo at 16:52. The Wolverines doubled their lead with just 18 seconds left in the second as Cadence Pero capitalized on a loose puck to make it 2-0.
The Wolverines' defense took over from there, killing off three Indiana Tech power plays and holding the Warriors (5-6-0, 5-2-0 WHAC) to just two shots in the first period.
UM-Dearborn outshot Indiana Tech 26-22 and improved to 4-0 in conference play.
